Taiwan Day 2: Rainbow Village → Changhua Railway Roundhouse → The Great Buddha Statue of Baguashan → Lukang Old Street → Park Lane by CMP → Fengjia Night Market

14th Apr 2018, Saturday

We planned to head out at 9am like the previous day. In fact, for the rest of the days we started out at that time and Xiao Xu is always early! Us, not so much. There was no breakfast provided, but I brought my own - including my bowl and spoon! Haha

Taiwan Day 0: Changi Airport → Taoyuan Airport

So.... This trip is a family trip (just my parents and myself). Itinerary was planned by my mum (I have zero say). I helped with the booking of flights, accoms, and driver. My mum wanted to visit the entire Taiwan in 10-11 days. It's a really short period of time to tour the entire country but she insisted on it (and also blames me for not wanting to take more leave from work for this trip 😐). I didn't want to drive and it's hard to take care of both of them + luggage if we were to take public transport hence the decision to hire a driver.

I'm back! My first post

Hey guys, so... I'm back blogging here after micro-blogging app Dayre announced that it's shutting down.

I've been blogging on Dayre for more than a couple of years now just because it's been much more convenient to upload photos + write on the go.

However, I'm happy about shifting my posts back here because I've figured out how to solve the convenience issue that Dayre provided for me and also I really like that I'm not limited by 500 characters anymore! Plus, I can do much more interesting stuff text/images-wise now 😊

This is a new blog because I wish to leave my thoughts and rants of school days behind me. It is a new chapter in life for me after all.

That said, I will still be (slowly) porting over some travel/misc posts from my past blogs/Dayre just because I like getting myself nostalgic when i re-read them. But not worry, I intend to back-date them so that you won't have to re-read them (especially if you've been following my adventures for quite some time!)

That's all for now!

Update: Just wanted to add that it took almost a month for Dayre to send me the link where I can download my posts. I was kind of impatient and just backed up my posts on my own. For people who are still counting on the download link: please don't. When I clicked on the link, all I got was "Access Denied". 😑 Tsk, tsk, Dayre.

Trip to Prague - Part III

Hahaha are you surprised that there's a part 3?

Here's Part 1 and Part 2 if you haven't read them already.

I was too bored studying for exams and I found the videos I took for the Prague trip! Enjoy! Oh ya,
I'm not sure why the video quality after uploading is quite bad.... But well, the sizes of the original videos are huge so I guess we'll have to compromise on the video quality here... (my advise is to not watch it in full screen)

Trip to Prague - Part I

This... is a long overdue post. I wrote this many months back, but only got around to writing about the first day. Fair warning: my memories of the trip has faded, so for the later part of this trip, I didn't add much content, just pictures. (On hindsight, I think I procrastinated because I had so many pictures and my Wi-Fi in Switzerland was not very stable so blogger kept giving me problems when I tried uploading the pictures and I just didn't want to undergo that unpleasant experience.)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember my last minute decision to go to Prague?
Never mind if you don't! I went in late April for 3 days (Sun-Tues. Yes, I skipped my Monday class for this). It's a long story so here's the cliff notes version: Prague is a really beautiful city, its architecture is stunning and at night, the city is alive with music.

Guide to FMEL Marcolet

Hey guys!

I'm back in Singapore and I thought I'll write a post for those people who will be staying in FMEL Marcolet in the future, mainly because the website didn't have enough information for me at that time. I was curious about how the flat, room, kitchen and bathroom look like and was unable to find much. So here are pictures! :D I'll also be giving some directions / how to get there (which is correct at this point in writing) to Marcolet and other helpful locations, which were hard for me to research since I only knew minimal French at that time.

Oh yes, first of all, be warned that there's absolutely no lift. So if you are going there with a very heavy luggage..... :D

Room
When I first entered the room, I was really happy as it looked really big compared to my room in PGP back in SG. I had an amazing 5 months living in that room.
